Goby & shrimp pair

i do have a question also regarding the shrimp to pair with the goby... the tiger pistol shrimp, ive seen different ones, is there a particular one i am looking for?
 
Depending on the size of the goby, Alpheus randalli and Alpheus bellulus are IME the two best pairing shrimps.
 
the 2nd one i put an email notification for.... but offer 2.... sri lanka, and asia... dunno the difference...

also, this is the goby i prefer.

Since that's a smaller goby, I'd go with the randalli pistol (candycane pistol). Not because a large tiger pistol would be a problem... just aesthetically, I prefer to match them factoring in size.
 
Love that fish! I have one that I get to see on occasion.
And I agree with Peter, a larger shrimp with a smaller goby just looks wierd. :)
I have a tiger and a candy cane in the refugium with 2 Harlequins. They will all be moved to the DT when I catch this beautiful wrasse.
 
im going to wait for the goby to be available so i dont pay twice on shipped lol... and maybe ill get another fish... and while im here discussing fish...

my tank is a 23.5 with 20lbs of liverock, 20lbs livesand.
i have 2 clowns and a cleaner.... mostly sps... i run a fuge with chaeto and a skimmer, minimal nitrate and no phosphate..

ill be adding this goby and shrimp pair soon, am i able to do one more goby or blenny?
 
ya, hes cool, i had a midas once before and do have a spot in my heart for him, very lively and fun... but this was pre-having-a-screen-top lol

but it should be ok to add the 4th with my filtration and parameters? if anything, looking to add some nutrients to see if it will help in the coloring of the acros...
 
I was gonna say... be careful of adding more fish... not because the fish themselves will have issues, but I worry in such a small tank full of acros.
