Going fallow

So I'm moving my fish over to my new tank over the next week or so. Gonna try to move some of the cleanup crew if not all.

I plan on repurposing my old tank in a different location but won't get the going for a few months. Too much going on at the immediate moment.

Sand, rock, lights, etc etc will remain with the tank. Besides top off water how much maintenance is needed? Right now I change 10% weekly. How much while it's "empty". Also should I ghost feed and how often. Basically I plan on salinity and temp being the same. But don't want to do weekly water changes since I'll be doing that in my new tank.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I would feed a small bit once a week. IMO the lights are optional. As far as WC's Should not be much of a need for any until your ready to put it back in service again, just make sure to stay up on your top offs. Just my 2 cents worth.

I fed my CUC algaewaffers while my tank went on fallow. WC once a month, barely any..

I pretty much did what you did. started a new tank and changed my original DT into a large frag tank. used the 3 month period to grow corals. I kept dosing. kept all Parameters up.
