I'm in the same boat as you right now guppy. +1 on removing the soft corals if you're going all out to immediately switch, but before you decide to start ripping out corals I suggest getting a couple of SPS frags, just to see how they grow. See if they need more light, what levels of flow they need, what areas of the tank they do well in, stuff like that. Also, as tempting as it is to just buy a bunch of huge and colorful wild collected corals I suggest starting with aqua cultured corals. The best place in my opinion to start is a frag swap. People are almost always friendly and knowledgeable, and corals are super cheap. At a good swap and you can get twice the variety for half the price of store bought corals in my experience.
