Going to Japan, need a babysitter in the 909

Hey folks,

I'm going to Japan on August 19th. I'll be there two weeks and will be back on August 2nd.

My wife is not into reef tanks and can feed, but not service the tank. I need someone who is willing to stop in 2-3 times per week in Fontana and check the tank and clean the skimmer. My plan is to have the wife feed the "boys" and check temp early in the morning and before she goes to bed, then record it on a form that will be mounted in the fish room.

I will do a water change the night before I leave, so that wont be an issue unless something bad happens.

Anyone free a couple evenings per week til I get back? Let me know how much you would charge.

You gotta leave before you come back, either that or you need to come back after you leave. Pick one.

I cant do the regular checkup but I'd be available in case something seems to be wrong and needs to be checked in on. Unavailable Aug 12 & 13 and Aug 26 & 27. If the tank runs pretty much on auto pilot I wouldn't worry much
PM me if you want a phone number for emergencies.

I suggest if it's a sump based system you mark the sump with high and low water levels. I always filled one gallon bottles with top off water to make it easy. It was either one of my kids or a woman down the street that knows nothing about aquariums.

Any additives portion out and date each one.

Portion fish food into daily rations.

Be sure the thermometer is right in front and checked 2-3 times daily since someone is going to be home.

Thanks GT,

My wife will be there to monitor and I'll be writing up a nice little sheet for her. She can feed, but I dont trust her when something goes wrong. I have an auto-topoff thats pretty reliable (drawing water from a container rather than directly from the RODI line). Lights are on auto, I cycle the CL pumps but need to get new timers for them (I leave them off during the day, they only run on photo period and overnight in the dark, then off before I go to work at 5am). The wife will be checking temp before she leaves for work (around 6am), when she gets home (around 6pm) and before bed (around 9pm). She'll be briefed on the safe temp range.

I'll PM you.

Got it... I'll give you a call in the next couple weeks assuming you're leaving Aug 19 and returning Sept 2.
