Hi Aquaforest,

I'm planning to start using your system, it's getting alot of good feedback.

I have a mixed reef, many sps but also a good amount of LPS and zoas and a couple of clams. Will the LPS and zoas clams suffer greatly from using the SPS-based ULNS method of Aquaforest, from the water being too clean?

My plans so far:
Probiotic salt
NF Pro
ProbioS

If I plan on using 2-part + mag to maintain alk/calc/mag, what other additives will I need? AF Reef Mineral Salt?

I plan on using the coral foods as well, Coral A, B, E, V. Will this be ok?

Thank you!

Hello,
Thank You for Your question.

We recommend to dose every part of Balling method - Ca+Mg, Kh, Reef Mineral Salt.

For mix reef You Can use for start:
Reef Salt+ -NP Pro + Pro Bio S.

When You want to have lower nutrients You Can Use probiotic Reef Salt - that salt really strong reducing NO3 i PO4.

For corals off course we recommend supplements:
AF Amino Mix
AF Build
AF Enegry
AF Vitality
And powdered food:
Ricco Food
AF Power Food

Aquaforest

I'm confused. Why would you suggest him using pro bio s and np pro with the regular reef salt. Isn't the pro bio s and np pro supposed to be used to lower/get rid of nitrates and phosphates?
But below it you tell him to use the probiotic salt to have lower nutrients plus that salt is strong for reducing nitrate and phosphate.
If that's the case what would be the point in buying pro bio s or the np pro? We could/should just use the probiotic salt and not have to use the np pro or bios s right?

We recommend Probiotic Reef Salt to use in ULNS Tanks.
Authors of that Thread is asking about products to his mix/LPS tank. Not Acropora only that's why I recommend to use Reef Salt with Pro Bio S and -NP Pro.

Full Aquaforest Probiotic Method contains:
Probiotic Reef Salt (salt)
Pro Bio S (probiotic bacteria)
-NP Pro (liquid polymers-culture medium for probiotic bacteria)

Off course - there is many ways to use probiotics products.
Also It could be Probiotic Reef Salt only.

Thanks for your recommendations and questions. It's a mixed tank with more SPS than LPS, but also a good amount of zoas and a couple of clams. I read about many people's experiences and it looks like as long as you are feeding using your Coral Food and vitamins etc regularly (to have food available for the corals regularly, despite ULNS), people have good experiences with even with LPS zoa clams. I went ahead and ordered your full line of product :)

Pro BioS, NP Pro, Probiotic Salt, Coral A B E V, and Coral Food, and the components for Balling Method as recommended. I'm excited to give your products a try!
