OK, so heres the deal...
I have this old 38gal tank that I am going to turn into my display, then Im going to use my 29gal as the sump. It will be an in wall, and it will be supported by a 2 X 4 stand. I am going to use mostly everything I have, including eshopps overflow, mag 7 return, ccs 125 skimmer.
So my idea was to build the stand, put the 38 on it, then find out the hole I have to make in the wall (dont worry it isnt a barring wall) Then make molding around tank on drywall. Then put new sand in the tank, all 38gals and then start mixing it.(I would let it mix for about a week). Then I was going to put my fish in a half filled 20gal for the day, Get all LR in tank how I want it, Move the 29 to below the stand, put baffles in, and then do all the pvc plumbing. I already have everything I need so that shouldnt be a problem. Then when I finish I would put water in the sump, put skimmer in, and start up the pump. I would get it so it was all balanced out and let it sit for a few hours. Then when it is mostly cleared put fish in and then finish all then little stuff, like algae, corals, and ATO. Then that is basicly it.
What do you think, sorry it is so long, but would the be the right attack, Im really pumped for it, but it has to wait till summer.
Thanks for the help,
Patrick

I would think that you should get the dislplay and sump plumbed together before adding in the water. Unless you dont have to do any drilling.
