it will take them a few hours to days to months before they might host in it.. they take some time. the carpet is not their natural host so nature might take a bit to kick in.
The only thing you can really do is wait and hopefully they take to the carpet. Its probably a good thing the maroons dont take to it yet, since it will give the carpet a chance to get used to its new environment without the stress of a maroon pair hosting it.

That is irresponsible of whoever sold it too you. If I were you I would contact the seller and let him have it. Carpets don't ship well in the first place and to ship one that was 1/2 a frag of the original is just ridiculous, especially considering the fact that Carpets cannot be fragged like bubble anemones.
Was it freshly fragged?
Check you LFS or divers den for a haddoni if you want to try another.
Thanks for the sympathy. Yeah, it looked to be fresh. I am contacting the seller. I did not know you could not frag. That was not cool. It is wrong on many levels.
