gold stripe maroon clown not gold?

Moved On
i received my gold striped maroon clown today from thatpetplace online.
i was disapointed to find it had white stripes.
on their website it says often white stripes when young but turns gold as they age, is this true?
i really would have liked an allready gold stripe instead of waiting and hoping it does indeed turn yellow

how long does it take? hes just about 2" long and tank bred

Pics?
Young gold stripes do not have yellow but I generally have seen it start to color up before 2" but this could just be a late bloomer.

They will turn yellow starting with the stripes closest to its head. Look very close, mine is in the middle of turning yellow and there is a very faint yellow in the first white stripe.

i looked closely and no all white no yellow yet
i emailed the company and this is what they wrote back...

The gold coloration comes into the fish when they
reach about 3 to 4 inches in size. For some reason with
tank raised species the juvenilles don't have the gold
when they are young. Wild caught ones do have the gold
even from a young size so I am not sure why there is
distinction with captive raised ones but it has been
observed. Just keep an eye on your new arrival and if you
have any questions as it continues to grow please just let
us know.

With age, my clown got the gold strips and his body color went very dark. He has looked like this for over a year. This picture is actually close to the colors of the fish.

oh wow that fish is gorgeous!
im just so impatient :D
i can see hes a bit fiesty allready, when i went up to the tank to get a closer look at him he got all aggresive towards me
hes housed with a porcupine puffer and a few damsels so hopefully things will be ok
i did want a fuzzy dward lion in the future, will that be an ok mix with a maroon?

That fish is very docile. He only seems to get upset if you get near his rbta. He eats out of my hand.
By the way, that pic was taken 1 second after the rbta split.
