hey guys. I'm a newby and have a 20 g tank with ten pounds of live rock and a royal gramma. I have a friend that offered to give me a gold stripe maroon clownfish and was wondering if you guys think it will be ok. The clown is about 3 to 3.5 inches now
It should be fine, maroons can get aggressive but mostly towards other clowns and clown-like fish. Just keep an eye on how it and the gramma get along at first but if they are the only 2 fish I'd say it's a go.
Probably fine, but agree that would be full tank for fish unless you have really good skim, and even then only one small more.
Shrimp would be cool to add.
I wouldn't do nem that small.
I have a red sea prizm for a 55 on it ( not sure if that is good enough for an additional fish). I'm also going to get same basic corals in a month or so.
It will outgrow that tank relatively quickly..that is the main problem with them....I threw my maroon out of my 20 into the 125 w/ 4 RBTA and have a pair of 'false' percs in the 20 now...it is a much happier arrangement.
