Gold Stripe Maroon Pair are fighting.....help!

I just purchased 2 gold stripe maroons to go with my BTA. As I am drip acclimating them together, they are fiercely fighting, taking off each other's fins. One is clearly dominating. I'm pretty sure this is normal, but does anyone think this is bad? Any advice?

whats the size difference? is the smaller one shimmying and shaking?

it is normal to an extent, but if they are both biting and fighting with no one submitting you might have 2 females. were they in the same tank?

they are about the same size. They were not in the same tank at the store. The one that is being dominated is brighter orange with yellower stripes. The dominator is darker orange, with not as yellow stripes, and more black on the end of his fins. It appears that they have calmed down a little, but they still rumble every couple minutes......

Really really should have done minimal research first. Buying two maroons that are even close to the same size most of the time leads to death of one or both.

Physically, how big are they? With any luck, they are less than 1" and maybe both males. If they're over that, there's that chance they're both dominant females already.

If it continues heavy, or they're larger clowns, I would take one or both back. The LFS absolutely should have known better.

i'm quite upset at my LFS. I told my fiancee to get a pair of true percs to go along with my anemone because she wanted to know what to get me for x-mas. She stopped at the LFS and the guy sold her on 2 gold stripe maroons which are the same size and apparently were both female. It cost a life and 40 bucks.....I'll be paying them a visit. Thanks for all your input.

There is a LFS near me that charges extra for "pairs" of clowns. All they are doing is putting two together often one is killed. I understand they are there to make money but sometimes it is just too much. Give em hell!!
