ooooohhhh wicked cool pictures there. What species is that "golden mantis?" my guess is Squilla empusa?

There are many species that fluoresce to blue or uv. I think we have seen it in just about every major family. We published a paper on Lysiosquillina glabriscula. Hemsiquilla califonriiensis and Gonodactyllus affinis are pretty spectacular as well. This is my favorite and serves as my wallpaper. I took it on Lizard Island. The animal was setting in a clump of green algae (which fluoresces red. The exciter wave-length was 470 nm. I'll let you figure out the species.

Isn't that a G platysoma?

Mine has fluorescent green bits, clearly viable in his most recent molt, mirroring the glowing green algae that grows up near the top of his tank.
