Golden Pearls,anyone?

Has somebody any experience using "golden pearls"for larval raising?This stuff has been around for a while...

Hi Luis, I have used them to supplement the diet for Stenopus and Camel shrimp larvae. Never used them alone though.

I use the 300-500 and 500-800 micron sizes with my ocellaris in grow-out. They sure do like it ,,, not as much as Cyclop-eeze though.

I tried the 50 micron as a rotifer replacement with one batch of Occ's and had 100% mortality,, they wouldn't touch it.

Tks for replies Negative results are also valuable.I want to find out if golden pearls or any other non living larval food could sustain larval survival and development.Ideally,it should be given without live foods,or the results can not be clearly understood.
I chose GP because I don´t know of other brands making particles that small.Otohime A is 250 mic,too big for smaller larvae.

I just ran an experiment feeding new born blennies (H.fissicornis) with GP 100-200 mics.They were not taken.

I still have to see any larval ornamental marine fish being raised exclusively on non living food.Clowns would be the best candidates.I will try with Otohime.Did somebody post here that it was done?

If you can get it to work you will dispel the notion that clownfish require the bacterial flora or enzyme activity that only live foods provide!
