Goldenhead sleeper commiting suicide

Just got a Goldenhead. He ended up in the overflow and was a bear to get out. Now he is swimming near the top of the tank illiciting the territorial response of a reef damsel. Why won't he go to the bottom and dig? He has a deep sand bed. He went under some live rock yesterday when I first introduced him. I had a Yellowhead jawfish disappear when it was doing this.

Another question. Why do they say that Goldenhead ans Mandarins cannot coexist that they compete for the same food supply? One is a sifter and the other is a picker. Enough food for all. My Yellowhead jawfish even ignores the Goldenhead for now.
