Goldflake-take a chance?

I have an emp angel amongst others in 280g fowl. I saw a georgous goldflake angel at my LFS (a bit bigger than the 6 in emp) and VERY reasonably priced.

So tempted. Take a chance? If so, how to acclimate together when they do go in the se tank?

Go for it, they are an awesome angel!

A Goldflake over 6" is a risk though, as they may be hard to acclimate to captive food. I just added a 2.5" sub-adult with juvi coloration (paid $200) from QT to a tank of existing angels with zero issues. Although I had to completely tear apart my rockwork, let it sit looking a mess for about a week. Then I restructured everything and there was zero aggression. If you cant do that, go with eggcrate divider for 2-4 weeks until the Emp gets used to the GF.

Thanks! Where do you get eggcrate divider for a 280g tank?

I get mine from the lighting department at Home Depot. They come in 4'x2' pieces. I cut it down to what I need and use zip ties to piece them together.

Cool. Thanks.

Any other experience with a GF and Emp together? Thoughts? Concern is that the Emp has been in the tank and ideally I know it would have better to have the GF added first. I will utilize the egg crate though if I do get the GF. Hopefully the fact that the tank is a good size will help.

I have a 6 inch Emp that's just changing from Juve coloration and a 4 inch GF, The Emp was in the tank for a year before introducing the GF. There is occasional aggression from the Emp but nothing too bad.
