We got a little anemone for our 10 gallon. There is no fish in there just some kelp we have been growing. It looks like a minature lta and retracts like one too when the lights go out. I only say its like a lta is because its tentacles kinda curl on the end. I know what people are going to say..its a pest..get rid of it.. no way this thing is a pest ..its cool thats for sure and perfect for nano tanks. You probably can't tell from the pictures that it is green, purple and pink

no, we put this tank together to grow tang food for when ever we get one. We are also growing our brine shrimp in there. We won't be adding any fish to the 10 gallon. Not with that anemone in there. It will catch any very small fish that swim by I am sure of it..we held a krill above it and it quickly grabbed it with its tentacles. If we put anything in there it will probably be a blue porcelain crab or a pom pom crab.

Yeah except it doesn't..lol..mine doesn't even romotely look like aptasia.
see here is a picture of aptasia

from what I hear about aptasia is that you can't easily remove them from the rock with out ending up with another aptasia.

After several days of searching for a picture that looks like this anemone..we have come to believe it is a actinia bunodactis..if its not that..it is definately a Actinia species.

good for reefs
not good for fish tanks
