chong77-
I had one with the same exact colors! I have never seen another one.

It dies after a year unfortunatly....

Enjoy yours- it sure is beautiful!

I could be wrong, I've had enough practice.. Would the lighter pigmentation, have something to do with bleaching?? I've seen this in other corals that turn much brighter than normal...

I sure hope not that a special color for that type of coral...

Happy Reefing

Well, I had a huge problem with my Alveopora, and wasn't able to save it. I had to rearrange some things in the tank, and I placed a kenya near the alveopora. Apparently, a GSP cover rock slid down against both the kenya and the Alveopora, and some combination of that killed both the kenya and the Alveopora in a single day. I got home to find the kenya completely shriveled and the alveopora half melted. Lesson learned, I never expected that to happen with those corals. The wife was SUPER mad.

I did get a different Alveopora last night, I'll try to get pictures of it in the next few days, it's branching as well, with 3 distinct branches and brighter green polyps.

Wow, those are some nice pics! Where are you guys finding these? he only ones I see locally are basic brown or reddish brown. I bought one thinking it was a nice green only to find the green was because it was bleached. It is now reddish brown, but healthy.

how can you tell the difference between the species....

if it has to do with the tentalces on the polyps (sharp vs blunted) i am so buying a neon green alveopora at lfs

Fat Fox Coral! - I don't think that is a Fox Coral...looks like Elegans to me.
Here is my alveopora frag.
