Goniopora questions

Noticed you have some gonioporas under your diver's den section. I read that all your diver's den corals are under 20k 400 watt halides.

Whats the distance between the gonioporas and the halides, from my reading and experience gonioporas do no like heavy lighting and tend to bleach under them.

If they have been in your system under those lights then they should do well under my lighting, 3x150 watt halides.

Thanks for your help!

heuerfan,

Our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility maintains the Red and Blue Gonipora corals initially in our acclimation system under T5 bulbs that are 24” above the water surface. They are kept under actinic lighting, with a touch of 10K during this time. Once the corals are adjusted and acclimated they are transferred and moved into a raceway that is 6’ long, by 36” wide and lit by a single 400 watt DE 20K halide lamp that moves on a track which is mounted 30” above the water surface. These corals thrive under dim, low lighting conditions.
