Goniopora white spot spreading

Hi all.
I recently got a goniopora and noticed one white spot where the coral is dead. Now a week later I noticed its spreading and the areas around are dying off?
What is the causes of this? How can I stop the spread? Coral still opens up fine except that dead spot.

It might be shipping damage or could have been burnt by lighting (although the colour of the rest looks good) or might just died off. To make sure it doesn't spread i would dip in a little iodine to kill off any possible bacterial source, similar to if it had brown jelly.

I agree, Gonioporas don't like having their flesh damaged. I've had a goni go up like yours after I handled it to move it. I would also recommend an Iodine dip

Thank you for the response. I will do an iodine dip as recommended. I did a Coral Revive dip last night. Hoping for the best..
