i have tryed to post pics but i cant seem to get things right. so i will give a link to a pic.

i think it is a smithi but i am no expert. what ever it is its got cool colors!! will a 5g mini bow be good for this little guy?? also how big will it get?

[Gonodactylus]

It is indeed a Gonodactylus smithii. Maximum size is about 8 cm, but they do not grow very fast. I would guess that this animals is about 5 cm. It that is the case, it will take another two or three years to reach 8 cm.

If you are careful about water quality, a five gal. should be o.k. This is one species that like LR and being a reef flat beast, is not bothered by bright, broad spectrum light.

I thought I replied to this already, last night... I'd swear I did...

Must be losing my mind.

Was going to say it did indeed look to be a G. smithii (but you knew that already).

Check out Tim's thread for some comparison pics and an idea of how enjoyable this species has been for me to keep (or to have been kept by him... jury's still out).
