Hey
i got a 20gal long aquarium and would like to get a anemone for it. My girlfriend and i have been wanting one but now are finally willing to pay for one. I like the carpets but i think my tank is too small for one any suggestions? Something AWESOME!!! nothing boring of course.

thanks

But I should say that I would not do a LTA!I regret saying that.Sorry about that.

Thanks,

Yes,it would get way to big for one!I have one in a 30 gallon that 18 inches and it takes up just about half the tank! This has enabled me to keep the corals I want.So I just got the anemone and a few fish!I would say it wound be a big bio load but it would put one on it!

Ya know ya can get some pretty nice Bubbles!Iv seen orange, red, green, tri colors, and some really nice green ones too!

why do you want a nem ? is it for hosting clowns or simply to have one lighting is probably your biggest concern as for a system that small your only choice should be a bta but ultimately everyone will say you can or can't do things but for your sake and the sake of a living creature bubble tips are the easiest to acclimate and care for in captivity and the don't require near the amount of light most other nems do. please research this subject thoroughly try wetwebmedia.com for good info

+1 to what dudleymoray said, plus remember that your tank has to be FULLY cycled and set up for quite a while (I've heard at least 6 months) in order to be ready for an anemone. People with experience and skill at keeping them can sometimes go sooner, but if you are new to saltwater aquarium-keeping I would advise you to proceed with caution. Even cloned BTAs require a great deal of stability and careful management--I found this out the hard way last year.

If you are just starting out in saltwater, I would get some experience keeping hardier invertebrates first. Don't worry about potential tank inhabitants being "boring" or "awesome"--just read, read, read as much as you can (get some reliable books and magazines--don't just rely on forums and word of mouth), especially about the animals you're interested in. Reliable information from a variety of trustworthy, experienced sources is your best resource in this hobby. :)

Thanks for the advise. Ive been a reefer for over a yr now and just want to ake sure i dont spend money and screw up. Ill just have to see what is available il let you know when i get it with pics!!

If you feel that you just have to have an anemone, get a Caribbean flower anemone. Colorful, relatively small, they don't move around and some small shrimps will host them. I have several and very much enjoy them.
