Good Camera !

I just want a good camera for taking pictures of my fish and coral. I am not in any way shape or form a photographer. So please take it easy on me! I just want to find nice mid range digital camera that will take some good quality pics with out breaking the bank! I will also be using this camera for my trip to germany in the next month ny suggestions?

My two current recommendations are the Canon G10 and Panasonic LX3. The G10 is probably better for the reef. The LX3 is probably better for Germany. They would both do well in each category.
