what kind of coral that would resemble an anemone would be good for the clownfish to host. in other words which would not be to bothered by a clownfish. i dont want to deal with the headache of an anemone.i was thinking green star polyps .thanks in advance

check out the different euphillyia corals (sorry I know that is not spelled correctly) i.e torch coral, hammer coral, or frogspawn. they are anemone like.

euphillyia's will work, but they don't always appreciate a clown hosting in them, and can become damaged or the clown can get stung pretty good at first. I'd recommend a toadstool leather with neon green polyps, they look pretty cool, and are SUPER derable.

My female ocellaris uses my green frilly mushrooms as if they were a mattress...jusy lays right down on top of them and goes to sleep.

They used to host my frogspawn, but since the tank swap it's been in pretty rough shape and thankfully they're leaving it alone.

clowns will host anything...

mine used to play in the GSP all day and night...the GSP had grown in a very big bowl shape and they were able to completely bury them selves in it to the point of i couldnt see them...

since i removed all my GSP they have been hosting in my green Fungia...they never went into my hammer coral but i know theat all the eupyhila (sp) species work nice for them...

mine also used to play in a green kenya tree (nepthea) but it stung the poop out of the fish and they always had black burn spots all over them..

Mine hosts a large brain coral(Welsophyllia). It just kind of lies in it occasionally like a bed. Doesn't seem to bother the coral. I have seen many Euphyllias and bubble corals destroyed by clowns hosting them so I wouldn't go that route. I would stay away from anything with a skeleton close to the underside of the coral tissue.
