Mutha f..... that is some outstanding growth +100 on you telling us what your dosing oe how your running your setup or fishroom secrets. Oh I think everyone wants to know whats up with the Smithsonian stuff in the back? Very jealous, maybe one day, I can have the pleasure of owning a 450 eurobraced mixed reef suuuuuweeeeeeet@!!!!

This is just the result of staying consistent and not constantly tinkering with the system. We put corals into place, and let them do their thing without disruption while keeping up with our routine maintenance. As for some details:

-6-400 watt radiums
-ozone injection to ensure water clarity
-the majority of our coral receive about 500-850 PAR
-lots of water flow including 2 tunze waveboxes
-water changes range from 15-30% volume 1-2 times per month with reef crystals
-24hr dosing of kalkwasser which adds up to about 10 gallons every 2 days
-schuran jetstream 1 ca reactor, which is undersized now but just keeps up
-gfo and carbon in Next Reef's MR-1 reactors
-custom protein skimmer that does a pretty good job
-and the secret is Patron tequila dosing

jk

And yes, we are a public aquarium and what you are seing behind the tank is an exhibit displaying USF's College of Marine Science Remote Sensing Program.

Hey, Butch (this is Jason from Omaha, BTW), looks good, though I think you might need a new home for that gigas pretty soon!

Jason! Whats up bud. Are you hinting about something with the clam needing a new home there? ;) The gigas is getting to the point where I cant get him out of the tank. I am about to start removing rock to make space. Hope all is well in Omaha.

Danny and Butch do a great job maintaining the tanks at the pier
we had a club meeting there a few months ago and they have a pair of mandarins that were doing the mating dance,i never thought id see that in an aquarium.that and they have one of the largest gigas clams ive ever seen in a tank,it is close to 3 feet long.

butch and danny are takin care of business at the Pier for sure. I was just down there drinkin like a fish on the 4th of July. I think it would take two people to lift that clam out of there! Good job guys. Love the progression shots!

Hey thanks guys, for all the kind words. In all reality we are just doing our jobs, hehehe...
I'll try to get some pics up of the equipment for everyone to see, I'll try to include a picture of the type of tequila Butch is consuming, I mean dosing, lol.
