Good HOB skimmer?

I'm starting my tank back up after a crash and am looking to go with a skimmer this time around. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good HOB skimmer for a 20 gallon? I'm willing to spend up to $200, would prefer less though.

I use AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer With Rio+ 800 Pump on 2 of my tanks and I have no issues with them. Skims great and quiet. For $160 I dont think you can go wrong.

Aqua C Remora is good. I just don't like the internal pumps in my tank, thats the only thing i have against them.

20 high or long? And is your tank pushed up against the back of the stand? You should no this if you want the eshopps because it is quite tall (23"). My tank is 12" tall and if i don't have the back of the tank right up against the side of my stand the skimmer won't be able to hang on your tank. So what im saying is if you have the 20 long you will need to have 16" straight down from the back of your tank. What i did was cut out a part of my stand for it to hang properly.

The Tunze Nano Reefpack 200 is a really cool system. Its Has a surface skimmer and 3 part chamber for media and a protein skimmer. This thing is 200 but is great for those that dont have a surface skimmer. Oh and it had a very small footprint, 4x4 about.

Would these work for up to a 55 gallon tank if I decide to upgrade in the next year or so? Or would something like the Eshopps psk 100 work better?

I agree, it works well but i hate looking at the pump ESP in a nano, thats why im about to sump my 20l :D:

You can always dial down the eshopps and IMO the aqua c remora nano skimmer wouldn't cut it for a 55 at all. If you think you'll upgrade I think the eshopps will be your best bet

the most important ? would be what are you going to have in you tank dont skimp on a fuge or a skimmer get a good one that fits your tank size. pluss nothing can replace a good water change

I have a Reef octopus HOB was around $180 Shipped good up to 110gal they have smaller ones and the sicce pumps in them are nice. I had mine now for 9 months and love it, pulls alot of nasty gunk outta my 35hex.
