Good Idea? bad Idea?

Just bought a new 80 gallon rimless look down tank ,won't get wet till December. I have time and I'm open to ideas. I will be going with a sump in the closet behind the tank, led lighting and bare bottom. I have an idea of drilling into the top of the stand and placing blue leds facing up into the tank. Almost like a reverse moonlight effect. I am looking for comments on any effects this could have on coral and fish. I know we like pictures so I added a few.

I know this has been attempted before, maybe not with LED's but bottom-lit. It could look cool, but it's obviously unnatural. Depending on the corals you keep they may end up with odd growth patterns. You might be constantly scraping the glass too.

Like I said, I have heard of this being attempted before. Find some build/result threads and see if it's something you really want to do.

looking to use the bottom -lit led's at the end of daily lighting cycle ,thought it would give the tank eerie look from 11pm-1am + I have all the stuff and can unplug if it looks bad.
