For the last 2 years I have been using nedmag magnesium chloride ice melt flakes in my 300 gal reef with great results. I had previously been using dow mag flakes but had difficulty finding them so switched. I am just finishing off a 50 lb bag of nedmag. My tank has lots of spfs mainly acropora, softies, xenia and RBTs. The nedmag site claims it to have similar purity to dead sea salts. Just thought I would toss this observation out there as there wasn't much available on the web in terms of its suitability for reef tanks when I started using it.
