Not to attempt to trivialize the "moderator's" input but you guys have way too much time on your hands.
All I was trying to do was to reply to a post that assumed we were changing our core business structure. If you continue to read the thread you will see that my other reply was to explain that we're out of space and very cramped. If you look at all 5 of my posts since 2002 you'll see that I usually just sit back read a lot.
If my intent were to advertise, I could have listed prices or maybe offered an e-coupon or better yet PM'd everyone online. Not everyone has an ulterior motive interlaced in their posts. The definition as described above leaves a lot of undefined grey area.
So Chris, do you agree that basically, a commercial member is not offered an easy path of communication with other members through these forums? That it becomes way too easy for anyone to interpret any communication other than a "Hey how are you doing?" from a commercial member to a non-commercial member as advertising? What if instead a "Hey how have you been I haven't seen you in the store in a while, you missed some really cool stuff" were typed? Couldn't that be construed as a form of advertising? I'll bet it would. Let's go one further and let's ponder what could happen if a non-commercial member wasn't particularly fond of either the thread. the establishment or it's staff, couldn't the member simply click on the refer this thread to a moderator button and get the whole review process started?
If you look at the top of the page you'll see that it's our customers who are supporting us and that it is they that have given us the very best form of advertising, word of mouth! And for that I am very appreciative.
Loosen up, life's way too short
