Hi,
I found this (see attached picture) in my sump, it sticks on the glass about 0.5 cm size. I spotted it very little a month ago on some maco alge and It graduately moved to glass from the bottom to water surface. Does it look like an Aipasia anenome, or is it good or bad? Should I remove it or leave it alone?

Thanks in advance.
Sean

it looks like aiptasia. and it is very bad. if the aiptasia feel threatened, it will release its spores into the water column. so you need to kill it, fast. there're many methods. you have options from kalk paste, vinegar, boiling water, lemon juice, joe juice, aiptasia x, berghia nudibranches, pepperment shrimps, and so on.

Actually, it seems very easy to remove this guy: it always climb above the water on the glass, near the surface. All I need is use a credit card to get under its feet. I was hesitate to do it because it looks kinda pretty and all the info/pics I read about aiptasia are all on the rock. This one actually only stay on the glass.

Just to be safe, I think I am going to remove it ASAP

It is aiptasia.I would buy 2 pepperment shrimp to take care of them,as there is always more then one.

Just remember to get an exact species name of your peppermint shrimp at your LFS. There are multiple species, while only one will eat the Aiptasia.

Make sure the peppermint isn't actually a camel and on a side note, Google aiptasia lasers. It's pretty fun to watch
