Okay, people, ya got us hooked. We know we want a mantis tank, a reef tank, and a puffer/lion/wrasse/? tank. It'll be at least a couple of months before any of those start to happen. I'm considering starting with a mantis tank, given the following advantages:
- smaller tank size = everything should be less expensive
-- less live rock & sand
-- smaller skimmer
- hardy and possibly free tank occupant
The one disadvantage I can think of is that I keep hearing/reading it's harder to maintain water quality in a smaller system. OTOH, if we can get to the point where we can keep the water quality up in the small system, it should seem easier to do so in a larger system.
Reality check, anyone? Surreality check?
