+1 Cyano. New tank? If so, several solutions out there. Nip it now. Old tank.... why, you need to find out that answer. Fairly common in new tank to go through some diff blooms, so this would not be totally unexpected, but get rid of as part of the new tank set up if new.

If established tank, again, nuke it, but figure out why you all the sudden got.

In any case, treat it, as it is problem-some.

Yea I have started getting this also. Tank is about 6 months old so fairly new. But it is only growing on some previously alive decorative coral pieces. One a big catspaw and some other branching type. I'm assuming these things are staying to leach phosphates? My levels have creeped up from 0 ro about .8-1. Weekly water changes keeps it in check.

Thanks all for the help.

It is a new tank and I have removed it. I will keep an eye out for any new growth and I plan on doing a water change this weekend.
