Good quarantine protocol for new fish?

I know that this has been asked and answered a 1000 times but I am an attention hungry person. I have a Sohal tang I am getting this weekend and before I through him in my new 300 gallon I am going to quarantine him in my 55 gallon.

I really (like everyone else) want an ich/parasite free tank. Therefore I am not planning of just examining the fish for parasites but rather do some preventative treatment?

Whats best stuff to use for preventative treatment? I was thinking some cupramine for ich and prazipro for fluke or is there a better combination/something I am missing?

Thanks

Those are what I use for my QT. If the fish starts showing other problems I treat for those, too, but cupramine and prazipro are the treatments that every fish goes through as a standard.

When you get the fish place him in your 55 gallon QT. Just monitor him closely for a couple weeks making sure he is eating and acting normal. If the fish continues to eat and look good for 2 weeks then I would start treatment. I would give him a treatment with Prazipro first. Make sure you are doing fairly large water changes regulary to keep the water quality good. After the Prazi and a large water change I would start Cupramine added really slow over the course of a week or so.
