Good Reef Shops in Louisville, Ky.

Reef and Coral Fanatic
I will be making a trip to louisville, ky to do some reef shopping. I need to know the best stores to go to. I mean good livestock, good prices, friendly. We only have 3 reef stores in lexington and only one knows what they are doing but he is have a rough time with money for the shop so it is rare that he has anything in.

There are a couple of other shops in town you should visit. There is a place called East End Aquatics and another names Aquatica, in addition to Sandy's. I understand the lex. comments :)

Thanks, I have lots of pics of my tank but never got around to uploading them. They should be up in my gallery later tonight. Is there any where else in louisville?

Thanks kramgnik I have found a new person to order my stuff through he will hopefully be opening a shop here in lexington some time soon. I have ordered over a 1000 dollars of stuff from him and he is a great guy. If interested PM and I will give you the website and contact info.

No. EEA is the best store in the region. Parker (remember him from Tony's place in Lexington?) has left JF and moved up to work for Jason. Tell them I sent you and they can give you a good deal on stuff. I don't see Tony doing too well dude.

No he has had some slow business. Still love the shop and the knowledgeable associates (all three of them). They just don't stock enough any more.

If your looking for the best reef shop in Louisville it would definately be Aquatica on Bluegrass Parkway. Todd is the only all saltwater store in town.

No problem, just be sure to call ahead of time since Todd sometimes has to close the store early. He also does excellent custom acrylic work like skimmer, tanks, sumps, and calcium reactors

Yeah, Aquatica is the store I frequent. Its on 11481 Blankenbaker Access Drive. Phone is (502) 261-0720 . He's got a great sps selection. When you're on Blankenbaker Access, just keep driving until you reach a stop sign, turn right at the stop sign and you'll see it in the shopping center on the right side. Too bad Lexington doesn't have crap anymore... The owner of Fish Land used to carry a nice variety of sps and clams, but I think he closed up.

No Dave was a terrible money manager and was not educated well enough to run an ichthio based store for fresh and salt..

I got red bugs and AEFL's from the store on Blankenbaker on three separate occasions. Beware that store. Use a QT dude. Good selection and nice folks though.

Aquatica has the best corals around. Todd does great acrylic work, and is pretty knowledgable.

Sandys is good. Bruce is one of the most knowledgeable people in the hobby and has been in it for many many years. The rest of his staff are mostly collage kids, and newbies in the hobby.

East End is not good imo. They transship all the stock. IMO they are unethical, Jason is not a hobbiest, and knows little about. They are in it just to make money.
