Good Refugium Light For Cheato

I just installed a 65 watt grow bulb in a clamp on reflector on my refugium in my sump. I noticed it gets very hot to the touch and i am concerned it will cause some heat issues inside my sump.

What is the best option?

1. Leave it.

2. LED's

3. Different Bulb

4.?

P.S. I am going from a small 13 watt compact fixture to this so i understand some heat is going to come into play.

I use a clamp lamp and a spiral compact 75w bulb, works great.

par 30 bulbs with white LEDs,chaeto loves the intensity.

Will a home depot philips 65k florescent work?

not sure,I have pcs on mine right now and looking forward to making a switch to LEDs,just better on energy saving.

which led bulb? all the ones i saw were in the 2700 k spectrum i thought cheato needed 5700-6700k?

I installed 6 Cree XP-g 5000k LEDs gor my fug. After 2 weeks the chaeto tripled in size. I think 4 Cree XP-g 5000k is enough.
