Good snail or bad snail?

This snail has been in my tank for a while, now living in the fuge. It only comes out at night, and I have never seen it on the walls of my tank. It is a beautiful snail, but is it good (a herbivore) or bad (carniverous)?

looks like some type of Nerite snail. if it is, then it's a good guy (and night time activity is normal).

Looks like an African Turbo Snail. Beautiful. Their shells are widely used for curios and such, but i've never seen them sold in the aquarium industry. Fantastic!
