Good Sources for free Webhosting?

Well, I am finally trying to put together a halfway decent website. I found a great tool for website design called NVU and have used it to make a quick and easy website for myself.

Question I have is if anyone knows of a good webhost or DNS service that is free and that does not load any advertisements or other assorted junk onto your webpage?

I am currently starting with Bravehost.com, but they do put a little junk on the site that I do not like.

I tried contacting freewebhostingpro.com, but they are not replying to my registration requests (a bad sign).

Geocities is a joke, and comcast.net personal webpages are not working at all for me.

Anyone know of anywhere I can go for better hosting?

Oh yeah, here is a link to my new website.
(Mostly pictures, but some actual content there already).

Hey Aaron.
I host these websites and a few more..

I can do both DNS hosting and site hosting.
If you wanted you could host it right off your home connection and use my DNS.
I've seen your place, I know there's a server in there somewhere :)

Really though, if you need hosting space let me know. We can get you all setup with FTP access, webmail and pop3 on any address for your domain, DNS, http, and about unlimited space on the server.

And I have / use, no banner adds!! :)

I host all my own pics I post here on RC too.

I am essentially doing this in the effort to get my skills back up to a decent level. I havent done any website related stuff for years. I also hated typing everything up in html and java. I got dreamweaver5 but havent really done anything with it and wanted to have a place to experiment with it and learn to use it finally.

Yeah, I have some server equipment around here, but its all older model proliant stuff and I got rid of most everything except the raid array. Of course, I have plenty of boards and chips I could hook up as decent servers, but then I would have to go get registered with a new set of domain names and all.

Cost is a big factor right now.

Free is where I have to keep my budget.

I shall contact you soon Steve.

Aaron is the proud new owner of his own website and domain :)
I'll let him give out the address when he's got content loaded up on it...

Dude you got some SERIOUS stuff on there already!!!

I was like (How did he upload all those pics so fast!?!?!)
Then I saw you have them on photobucket..
Which will prolly load faster there than here, they have some serious servers and bandwidth!!

Steve, you didnt know about the new PHtObkT protocol? Its the newest, easiest way to upload photos via FTP.

LOL.
