Good starter corals for 75G Mixed Reef?

So I'm starting up a 75 gallon mixed reef. It's been running for around 3 months. Here's what's in it so far:

Clownfish x2
Yellow Tang x1
A ton of snails x>9000
Some hermits, emerald crabs etc
Goby/Tiger Pistol Shrimp pair x1
Pulsing Xenia Coral
Green Star Polyps Coral
70 lbs of Live Rock
60 lbs of Live Sand

I'm also running a protein skimmer & UV sterilizer in my 55g sump.

I had an issue with aptasia, but I'm 99.9% sure I killed them all.

I'm thinking about a zoa garden, but I'm not sure what I really want yet. I heard ricordea mushrooms are hardy. Any ideas?

My plan to reduce the population of the Xenia is to have more corals, so there's more competition for space.

Today, I bought the following things:

Sand Sifting Starfish x2 (to reduce the clumping of sand)
Nassarius Snail x10 (same as above^)
And a bunch of different varieties of zoanthids.

I also did my 3rd water change on the tank. It was a water change of 35%. Everything went well.

I'm also thinking about possibly getting a frogspawn coral/torch coral. Any thoughts?

One sand sifting star will starve in your tank. Fighting conch, nassarius & cerith snails would be the best to keep your sand nicely stirred.

Euphyllia are good hardy corals.

Frogspawn is easy to care for, and adds awesome movement to a tank. Any kind of zoa or paly is easy to care for as well, but be careful they are addictive! GSP will take over if you don't trim on a regular basis.

As I said, with all the corals I'm planning on adding, hopefully it provides competition for space between the corals.

Also, I haven't started feeding my corals yet. All the corals I have are photosynthetic, and they've been doing very well. Since I'm adding a lot more, though, I've decided to start directly feeding them on a weekly basis.

What and how often should I feed my corals? Should I feed them all, or just the corals like GSP/Zoas not need feeding?

Keep your green star polys segratgated as they can become very intrusive on a tank also and almost impossible to remove from a rock once in crested on it.

Zoas can benefit from feeding. Xenias will cover and kill other corals so it would be a good idea to get rid of those.

hm... I like the look of the Xenia, so I'll probably leave it in for a few months, then take the entire rock out before it grows too much/spawns.

I'm also going to start feeding my corals more often.

Anyone know how long I should wait before adding a RBTA? I hate seeing my clowns sleeping near the powerheads, and I'd like to see them sleeping in the 'nem. Some people told me a year, but that seems a bit ridiculous. My tank has been running for 3 months, water is testing out great, very small amount of algae, and a lot of success with the tank. I don't see why I can't add one.

At least 6 months for an anemone. A year is better. Just because you add an anemone to your tank doesn't mean that the clowns will host it. The xenia will start spreading to other rocks fairly quickly

I know, hopefully they do host it. If they don't, I can buy sexy shrimp, so something would be hosting it.

I might take out the Xenia, and put it in my spare tank for now, and possibly give it back to my LFS.

Thank you for the advice :)

My tank bred ocellaris try to use every zoa colony in the tank as a host. I would add a BTA if I knew they would use it and leave the zoas alone.

An inexpensive chalice (Hollywood stunner is a good one) will thrive in decent conditions. Great starter coral.

I have xenia and I love seeing it in motion. That said, I hate it because it gets everywhere. If I could do it again, I'd nix the xenia. It's such a pain. I do have GSP that's stayed only on its softball-sized rock, so your miles may vary with that.

I've had luck with finger leathers and toadstools...they're pretty easy to keep and grow fast.

Help!

Help!

I have a custom 300 gallon tank in my living room which is equipped with fully automatic systems except for feeding fresh food. I have AI Lighting, Aqua drip system, tank regulation system, temperature regulation pump, and hydraulic automatic nutrient diffuser for inputting nitrates, salinity levels and water. Other than that I am great. My tank looks great other than one of my banded cat sharks. I have 2 banded cat sharks, spotted eagle ray and a dogface puffer fish. My 1 foot moray is doing well but is very shy. Recently I had put in a mantis shrimp and you would think the eco system but a week later both sharks died. No chemicals were added and the flow of the tank was perfect for them. There had been some bites on the side of the sharks but it didn't look like it would kill the sharks. A month after i had came back to my tank being perfect except for my morah. It was gone!!! I had the company that built the tank ATM come by and help but they couldn't find out where it had gone!
