Good starter SPS under LED lights

Get yourself a nice frag of monti cap. This has to be one of the hardiest SPS. Birdsnest is also a relatively good choice, however I think people tend to overestimate its hardiness because of how freaking fast it grows when it is happy.

As for the MH/LED debate, that's probably best for another thread as it can, has, and will be debated forever.

this.. for me, about any montipora has been super easy except one green w/ blue polyp monti that refuses to turn green for me :headwalls:

I had a lot of issues with birdsnest when first going to SPS. I'd try those second..

I've had very good luck with birdsnest under my DIY LED's. That said, I feel that water quality is much more important.

I've had good luck with the ORA birds of paradise (not my picture, but color is identical)

The polyp extension is ridiculous. Sometimes it's difficult to see the green because of it.
