I would like to know of some good Exotic, but somewhat hardy tangs to keep in a 300+ gallon tank. Please give me any and all suggestions

My 1st choice would be a Blonde Naso Tang. Great centerpiece fish and very striking, especially a large one.

Orange shoulder is a very cool large tang

Really striking in adult colouration and over 8"

I also like the Sohal

Thanks for all the posts, Keep them coming!! hogall I am thinking of a sohal, or a achilles tang.

The Sohal is alot easier to keep than the Achilles IMO. Both are mean thot :D

I have three Purple, three Yellow, two Black, two Tomini, one scopas, one Sohal and one Desjardin. The Sohal is the boss

Once I upgrade, I am planning to add the follows:

Powder blue, Clown, and Gold Rim/white Cheek

But would luv to add a Achille if they aren't such ich magnet :mixed:

+1 orange shoulder
very peacefull never once touched a fish or coral. Nice color transformation. Eats diatoms and keeps the sand clean. Add first and you shoulnt have a problem adding a sohal or archilles later.

I started my tank with 5 tangs. A purple, yellow, sailfin, bristletooth and a sohal. Everyone worked out fine except for the sohal. It was by far the most beautiful fish in the tank, but it grew twice as fast as all of the others and became a real bully. He wouldn't let anyone else get to the nori and I think he got most of the frozen food that I fed. Even in a 220 gallon tank, he swam back and forth from end to end and kept the other fish nervous. I finally had to let him to my LFS.
