Good thing we don't fish for a living...

I went fishing with my Dad and girlfriend a week and a half ago up in NJ (Great Bay and Little Egg Inlet, just north of AC). We were going mostly for flounder, of which we only caught shorts. Caught a small sand shark, and the fish below. It's a Sea Robin, and I thought y'all might be interested in seeing it. They are redder than the picture looks and have big wings almost like a lion fish. They'd be cool to put in a tank, but would most certainly not be reef safe. They're heads are covered in a boney plate that has spikes sticking off of them and they would eat just about anything they could get in their mouths. Anyway, they aren't uncommon up there, just don't think they show up much in warmer southern waters.

I had one in a fish only tank for a while and it was very cool. Spent most of it's time walking along the bottom with those little fins below the big ones. It was a serious pig like you said though. It grew very fast also.
