Well I woke up this morning and went downstairs to find my GFI tripped and my 90 cube leaking water all over the place. Best I can tell the bottom seal went. Spent the next 4 hours frantically relocating everything and sucking water out of the carpet.

Luckily I bought the 180 and it was about 75 percent full with a powerhead and canister filter running on it. The plumbing was all done and ready. So I was able to transfer water and start it up. The water was a little cold but I did not have a choice. Everything got moved and seems to be ok tonight. Hopefully things will be ok short term till I figure things out. The 180 does not have a skimmer and has inadequate lighting, I was not planning on a rush start up. I have a skimmer on backorder and may have to find something in stock instead.

Hey Jorge,
Sorry to hear about that. I have a ASM G3 skimmer with a new pump if you need something short term. It would be under rated on your tank, but better than nothing. I also have 2 120W Chinese LEDs that will light your tank short term as well. If you need to borrow either let me know and I'd be more than happy to lend them to you.

I have some lights I can rig up this weekend. So I think I will be ok there. May take you up on the skimmer loan Will. I just put a new pump on my G-3 last weekend, those skimmers actually work well. 5 years of use on the G-3 and all the old pump needs is a new impeller but the impeller is half the price of a new pump.

I got it from Eugene and he said it was leaking voltage, but the impeller should still be OK. 540 553 4317. Give me a ring. I'm not the most religious RC surfer any more

Small world, thats my old G3 you got from Eugene, anyways IIRC I replaced the impeller before handing it off to Eugene.

something must be going around. my 220 sprung a leak a couple weeks ago. managed to save most of my fish to by 90 but near total loss on coral. bummer. hope all works out!!

well as of now things seem stable and other than a bunch unintended fragging of corals, things should be ok. A purple firefish is missing but I am hoping he will turn up.

Ordered a new cube today, they do not make them with a frame anymore, that scares me as the one with the frame sprung a leak. Anyways go figure it was $100 cheaper than the one I got to years ago. I will be bringing some of the new frags to the store for credit to help pay for the new tank.

Big thanks to Will who delivered a protein skimmer that should hold me over till I get things back into the new cube. Should have it up and running in two weeks if things go well. As bad as this was I consider myself lucky having the 180 almost ready saved my A**.

Just an update, The new 93 cube is a frameless, scares me a bit since the one with a frame sprung a leak. It is up and running and most of the corals have been moved back. Had to rush a bit a some of the corals that went into the 180 died. That system was not ready for corals.

The skimmer is doing pretty good on the 180 and hopefully the shipment of Skimz skimmers will arrive soon so I can get what I want and what will fit in the sump. Once the 180 is in better shape I may have a reef meet. Give it a month or so.
