I'm planning a 40 breeder reef. It'll likely be SPS dominated. I already have one MJ 1200 with the eco-flow mod, and I'm probably going to get another (I should be able to find another MJ for free somewhere around, and the mods really aren't that expensive).
I'm not asking for opinions on aesthetics or recommendations of what I should use instead of the MJ's. I just want to know what wave makers you've guys used that work well. And by work well I don't mean the Red Sea Wave Master that makes annoying clicking noises every time it switches power-heads haha.
I'd rather not spend $200 on a Tunze controller which I've heard work well. So, has anyone used the JBJ Ocean Pulse Duo? How about any other ones?
I'd get an Vortech MP10, but then the MJ1200 wouldn't be controlled and with the amount of flow that's going to come out of a MJ 1200 I'd rather not have to use it for constant flow. Until I actually hook it up I won't know if it is too much flow, but just in case does anyone know of a way to lower the amount of flow coming out of the unit short of getting a MJ?
thanks in advance
