they are a cold water species and would do poorly in a typical reef aquarium
Yep. I'm obsessed with strawberry/jewel/Corynactis mushrooms. I hope to have the time/resources to set up a nice temperate display by the end of the year. Any Aussies or Kiwis know of any tank-raised specimens out there?

I've had one that came on a piece of live rock for the passed 8 months. I feed it sometimes, but it seems to do fine without it as well. Pretty interesting little thing.

thy're not just a cold water species. I have a couple of pseudocorynactis caribbeorum that came from the local waters.

screaming magenta base with orange ball tips. too bad my pix are to big to post.

ive got some that are clear with a greenish tint (under 250wXM10k)... for the longest time, i thought they were babies from my green ricordias that were just washed out

The temperate tanks at Shedd aquarium ib Chicago are completely covered with these. Maybe you could contact them for more info.

yeah these things are cool seem to spread like the plague though. as ransome said everything at shedds is pretty well covered here is a pic i got from my last trip to shedds.

Thanks, Godoftheseas, that's a nice shot-- they're of Monterey Bay origin, I would bet. Good example of how less is more sometimes, where color is concerned. I wouldn't complain much about a "plague" of these...
