Hello,

From Divers Den awesome piece was turned upside down during shipping. Fair amount of skeleton is now exposed. Acclimated via slow drip. Dipped in Bayer Advanced and now in tank where I planned to put it.

What else can I do to increase the chances of it healing? I know LA will credit but that's really not desirable at all. I want to save it quite badly.

Tank parameters excellent.

dKH 11
Ca 385
Mg 1200
Near 0 NO3 and PO4

Thanks for your help.

Mine hated my tank for months. It exposed quite a bit of skeleton. I started to use brs 2 part to keep things stable and it did a complete 180. I would feed it if I could but, my fish are insane over food. There is no chance of feeding. If yours exposes its feeders, you should definitely try and feed it.

Thanks guys. Feed I will! Fortunately the water is good and it has expanded right away. Though I don't think fully.

Trachys can be beautiful with their fleshly undulations and contrasting colors.

IMHO, trying to give it the best shot, I would bump your mag up to at least 1300. IME, LPS can get grumpy when the mag gets below 1200.

As saltfishguy18 suggested, a dip in an iodine solution could help to reduce the likelihood of infections that would slow or prohibit healing.

Ok let's see if I can get this to work. Series of photos. --- After a moment, grrrrr, I took them with a good camera and the files are large I can't get them below about 200kb so can't post here. Links below to my facebook page where these will be uploaded.

1. As arrived see skeleton showing through top
2. Fully expanded day 2, much better than I expected
3. While focus is poor as room/tank was pitch black you can see that the tentacles are out.

I am feeling pretty good about this coral now.
