Gorgonian Sheds A Lot

I have a Ctenocella pectinata that stays open for about 2 days and then closes for 4 and when it reopens it sheds a layer of skin. Is this normal? (doubt it) What does it mean?

My green lace sheds all of the time. I think the waxy coating comes off every time the polyps extend themselves back out. I have had it over a year now and it grows like crazy so I am pretty sure it is fine. The part that concerns me is that yours closes for 4 days. I use to have a red and yellow gorgonian and it opened daily until it started to die then it opened less and less often until it died.
