Got a 6 foot Aquatinics Constellation in...pics.

Glad to hear someone else is impressed with their Constellation. I've had mine up for a couple months and couldn't be more pleased. I also used the hanging kit.
The real test will be when I start growing some clams and sp's (hopefully this fall). I'm sure this will be more than enough light.
What bulbs did you get for the unit?

Looking forward to your pics.

It's weird not seeing a Dalamation and "Moved On".

That fixture looks very nice. Hanging the fixture makes life so much easier, especially when it comes time to clean the protective cover and change bulbs.

Dang Tacocat.
You wish I was still in the abyss. :sad2:

Who knows...maybe again someday. :clown:

The Dalmation was from my sports bar logo.
Sold that...the Rhino is from my new nightclub.

I just finished installing it but have to get to work..>Friday night and all.
I will have some pics soon.

Nah, not at all. It's nice to see you back. I guess I got accustomed to seeing threads you started being bumped back up by people doing research or looking for references. :D

Sorry it took so long.
Weekends are our busy times.

Here is a pic of the Constellation hanging over my tank, a six foot 180.

Hanging it was very easy once I understood the cables.
I was VERY fortunate that the beams were directy over my tank in the exact spots needed.
What are the odds...

Yeah, I got the constellation about a month ago. Very nice and sleek set up. I went with the legs.

What bulbs are you using? I've got 6 Giesemann Aquablue+, 6 Giesemann Pure actinic and 2 Aqua Medic red planta bulbs for that nice kick of red.

zeorocka,

I am using this combination on both sides.

Front

Blue Plus
UVL Super Actinic
UVL Aquasun

cool thanks for posting that picture, can you post one of the whole tank with it lit up

Agreed.

Hey Gang,
I can take pics of the tank for you.
But so you know, there are virtually no corals.
Only a few ricordia (like 6 total) and two echinos.
I sold and gave all my corals away about a year ago when I realized that my work was going to take ALL of my time.
I am just now starting to think about adding some corals.

Still want pics of a tank with just rock? lol

Sean

yes please a pic of the whole thing, I just wanna know what it looks like hanging above the tank. I am prob gonna get one.

Oh, and no razzing me about lack of corals either. :D

I hadn't been able to maintain my tank for almost 18 months and gave away almost all of my corals May-June 2006 so they would have good homes.

Sean,

That fixture looks sweet hanging above your tank. Are you happy with the bulb combo you went with as far as color and intensity? At 546 watts, I bet you can't wait to see your 1st electric bill!

Luis

(PS...Nice rock!)

Hi Sean,

I'm looking at the same fixture for a 125g. Still no complaints I take it?

Also can you confirm if there are two or three sets of light switches?

I have the same unit on my 180, and you can grow clams with that light. I have a Derasa on the sand bed and a Maxima about half way up.I think the two fans are more than enough, mine never seem to get "hot". Mine sits right on top about 4in from the front. If I need more room, I just push it back a-bit
