Yes they are very yellow, copaired to the 20k.

Have you used XM 10Ks?

Yes you do. You can do it by duration, screening the light, raising the fixture or a combination of all three.

Do you think that just by lowering the photo period from 6 hrs. to 3 hrs. will do the trick with no screen?

Yep, that will do. Start out at 3 hours and every few days add another 1/2 hour to the time until you are back up to the full photoperiod.
