Got a new coral shipment today

I decided to add some more softies and LPS to my tank. I'm just kind of tired with trying to keep my acros alive so I went and ordered new coral. I just got them this morning and already cut most into tiny frags to grow out. I got Blonde Blue Eyed *******, Scrambled Eggs, King Midas, more Utter Chaos, WWC Twizzlers, Jason fox Dayglo Favia, Baby's Breath Favia, Blue Angels Favia, UC Fascination Favia, Tiger Stripes Favia, Tiger Stripes Convict Favia, Cherry Blossoms Acan, gonzo Victoria Secrets Acan, a pink and purple chalice being called cotton candy, but like a convict chalice and another Torch Coral. I cut up most of the favias into 3 except the UC Fascination as it was pretty tiny and is a real looker.

I'm thinking about getting rid of my acros, montis and digis, Granted the acros I have left are doing fine. I have always been a chalice and acan kinda guy. I got into more SPS, but might take a step back since I don't want to have the maintenance of keeping my tank that clean.

E-Bay. TheMacroMan It's a hobbyist in Ohio whom I have dealt with at the Swaps in the past. Things all looked good. The torch wasn't as colorful under my lighting and the UC Fascination Favia was pretty small, but it was all what you see is what you get. I was happy with the order overall.

yeah pics tomorrow if I can find the camera. They are pretty unhappy with me as I cut them all up, but we will certainly see what I can grab. I did just stick a different light above the tank this evening.

No, I was using a 3 foot 2 bulb T5 with 2 150W 10K MH. Somehow, don't know how, I was getting electric current in my tank from it. I got it from Frank Watters when he broke down his stuff and gave everything to the club members. I bought some XM 10K bulbs from Bob Nell who originally gave Frank the fixture.

Greg Rice gave me a 4 foot 4 bulb T5 with duel 250W MH. I hooked it up last night. Better over my 6 foot long tank. Oh, and now shocking when I put my finger in the tank :D

Well..... there goes my theory of why I keep killing RBTA's. I thought for sure it was trace electricity.

Do you have a grounding probe?

Jamie, I'll take acros, montis and digis. I'll be setting up a hold over tank soon. let me see what you have.

Kevin, those I just gave ok? If not, there's more where those came from!!!

Didn't make it Jesse. They did the same that all of mine have done. They find a place to settle and stay put. They slowly decrease in size but keep bubble tips the whole time until they finally get too weak and turn inside out.

I think my bubble tip about doubled in size, almost looks like it's gonna split

Well Jamie great to hear about Reef Gallery support. My question is do you support him. You guys want 10% but don't really support the local stores

 That's a blanketing statement. :rolleye1:

And made in the wrong thread.

I've spent at least a few hundred there in the past few months. A couple of hundred at Elmer's and a couple of hundred at Aqua world.

And I'm SURE I'm not alone.

Do you own a store?

Kevin

Jerry,
You really should have posted that in the thread about The Reef Gallery. I know that you know Adam, why don't you call him up and ask him if I support his store or not. The answer will certainly be a yes. I go up and spend a couple hours just hanging out with him and we trade things fairly frequently.

I can't speak for everyone in the club since membership is open to the public and we don't control who shops where, but I buy most of my stuff local, including salt and such that I could get cheaper online delivered to my doorstep. I do buy coral locally, but sometimes I'm looking for certain things that I can't find locally. Mostly of my coral has come from the club members and swaps. I know that at least half the PMASI BoD has shopped out at The Reef Gallery and from the responses in the other thread allot of our active members do as well.

I fully support the local sponsoring stores. The only one that I don't frequent is the Petland and Irwin simply because Irwin is far and I am never anywhere near there. I don't know where the "don't really support the local stores" comes from. I am certainly more than happy to listen to a more explained response from you than and statement with no explanation to the reasoning of what makes you think that we don't support those that support us.

The reef gallery is an awesome place and I know several of us have in fact gone there not once but several times- I myself have been in several times and have purchased quite a bit from Adam. It is a great store and sadly I am no longer able to stay in but i will say that comment is certainly unfounded.

I too have been there. It's also more than an hours drive. I was there a couple weeks ago and picked up some rock. This was before the store was a sponsor. You are way off base.
