Got a sick fish

Hi y'all,

We've got a sick Fairy wrasse. Managed to catch him and all the other fish and get them in quarantine with copper. Any idea what's going on with this guy?

That looks like Lymphocystis to me....
If so, not necessarily fatal, is viral, can be treated as an infection.

Hopefully we can get a few others to chime in here
Check sticky notes for reccomend meds....copper I use for parasites, so I have no idea if that will work. I was thinking more like a general prophylactic.......in any event don't mix them.....

In addition, feed high protein foods, frozen meaty stuff.

Make sure your temp is between 77-79, too warm water has been discussed as not a cause but a contributor, same with water quality and nutrition......

That's assuming the diagnos is correct. Just my two cents

It's hard for me to tell but you did the right thing too add copper . Not for the sake of lymphocystis but just in case it's not . I see lympho as if lumpy cotton balls have gotten stuck on the fish. If it is lympho then yes that should go away on its own . Are these new fish? or any new fish or inverts added lately ?

The wrasse and a hammer coral were brought home about three weeks ago. The wrasse starting showing signs right away. We added Hyper Cure to the main tank for 4-5 days and then ran out. The fish showed improvement. About a week after we ran out of Hyper Cure the white nodes re-appeared. We are unable to source more Hyper Cure so I had to setup the QT.

to me they look like some sort of eggs or something that have attached themselves to the fish and not really lympho. How long have they been there? are they getting bigger or multiplying? is the fish eating?
