I see the crab sitting in a hole, it's about 1cm in size and looks like a nasty gorilla crab. How can I instantly kill it or get it out.

Can I kill it with boiling water or will it survive? I can see where it lives, but won't be able to take or move rocks. Will squirting boiling water work or do I need to use force?

make a trap for it if u know where he hides? there's any number of diy traps, a quick search till get you some pics and info.

Shot glass w/ some food in the bottom. Works great.

I am an a-- hole, I fed the crabs I caught in my tank to the aggressive FOWLR tank we had at work. Formossa Wrasse: 5 Crab: 0

If it's not too late, I'd be happy to take it as I have no corals in my tank and if it gets out of line, the large hermit crabs will take it on.

Stab the thing and take it out piece by piece with a tweezers. Dig until you get it all. Not sure how to use a trap, so I would just grab and pull.

rubber band on bamboo skewer like a pole spear. lol

hahah! I waited till night time, turned off pumps and filters, then I put a little bit of food outside his hole. When it came out I blocked the hole with a frag plug then grabbed him with some tweezers.

I set a trap and placed some scallop inside. He never moved, he's just sitting 2cm away from the entrance and now he went back inside his hole...
