ok so i picked up a used 120 with a dual corner overflow and the guy that had it has it set up for a drain and return in both corners and he glued everything together(grrrrr) he even glued the bulkhead threads(2x grrrrr). well my old tank is drilled(glass holes kit) and i set up my sump for that set up.
seeing as how im not going to change my sump.....i need to run things a little screwy. heres what i have to work with and my thooughts of making it work.
i have to work with the 1" plumbing thats already there. i have 2 pumps in my 150 for flow a quiet1 pump and a mag12. off of the mag12 i have a S.Q.U.I.D. (LOOKS LIKE A "T" AND SPLITS) IT ALTERNATES WATER frome one return to the other. So on the 120 im going to just use a single tube off of the mag12 to the s.q.u.i.d. and then run one to one side return and one to the other. for my drains im going to have the main drain on the side of my sump that i had my old tank set up for and run a gate valve on it for control and have the other corner drain set up for a fail safe emergency drain.
question : does this sound like it will work? will mag12 be too much for 1" pipe?

how so? i cant do a basement sump. our home was built in 1902 it has plaster and lathe floors are beautiful hard wood with 10' baseboard all original....i dont want to make a mess

I was referring to inside the tank. You lose a bunch of space. That is the complaint on center and dual overflows.

oh yeah deffinatly....but for $200 i couldnt pass it up....plus hard to find a 120 for sale these days where the person isnt selling the whole system AS a whole

I fell into a similar boat you are in with a tank other than my
Uch higher priced first choice and decided working with the overflows would be the better option. Are you sure you have four 1" bulkheads to work with, and not 2 1" and 2 3/4"? Im using all four 1" bulkheads for drains and returning water over the back through 2" my drain might be best described as a modified herbie; I tied both bulkheads together in order to run one syphon and the other two bulkheads stand as backup drains. This way both boxes stay fresh to further flush the boxes I don't use stand pipes on the syphons just open bulk heads.

i will have to look in the morning. its outside because it needs a good clean out tomorrow. you might be right though. the drains might be 1" and the returns might be 3/4", he had it set up as each corner has a drain and a return. also whoever owned it the first time around siliconed and glued bulkheads ! such a pain in the butt. gotta figure out a way of cutting all of them off and starting fresh with new bulk heads with out shattering the tempered glass bottom!
